Drepanosticta brincki (Brinck's shadowdamsel), Kottawa, Sri Lanka I cannot find this in the species list. Another one from Platystictidae. This one however is more difficult to ID since it has many commonalities with others in the family. I used the combination of eye/face markings, the stripe on the abdomen and the rusty body colour to ID it, however I cannot be certain with this ID. Once again I used the Dragonfly Fauna of Sri Lanka to ID. 1. Another excellent find, looks like you found a great area to scout for rare species!
Hope you do find a way to make the photos less dark :)

    1. Thank you! I could try lightening the photo a bit more and reuploading if that would make it better? :) Posted 7 years ago
      1. No worries, it was a suggestion for future posts. Hope you take it the right way, because your findings are very valuable, educational and that is the main reason for the comment: it would be a pity if they cannot be viewed in their full glory :)

I was perhaps wondering if you're working on a monitor with low brightness or other settings where perhaps it looks like light enough for you.

        1. Of course! I have been wondering the same thing. My monitor isn't the best quality so that might be what's contributing to this. Furthermore, it's harder to take brighter photographs, even with flash, in rain forests. Which is quite unfortunate since they host a lot more species. Posted 7 years ago
