  1. ID-ing damselflies can be tricky, so not an expert either. Give how difficult it is, I would like to ask you which reference you used to come to this species? Posted 7 years ago
    1. Yes, I used the book Dragonfly Fauna of Sri Lanka, by Karen Conniff, Nancy Van der Poorten and Matjaž Bedjanič. I also used Dragonflies of Sri Lanka by Gehan De Silva (pdf) but the illustrations are not very clear.

"Agriocnemis pygmaea" is a species of damselfly in the family Coenagrionidae. It is well distributed across Asia and parts of Australia. It breeds in marshes and ponds. The species is found in diverse natural and man made habitats.
