Wandering Garter Snake (Thamnophis elegans vagrans) In our area the Wandering Garter Snake likes to go “fishing” in and around the ocean. Can you spot this fellow in the left photo? They are very well camouflaged as evidenced by the right hand photo. At a low tide and the sunshine up to four of these fellows can be seen going over, under and around the rocks below our deck searching for prey or sunning themselves like my model is doing. I have also seen them in the ocean looking for food under the submerged rocks. 1. I feel you're just messing with us and the snake is not in the left pic :) Posted 7 years ago
    1. Ha! Seriously, it is in the middle and about a quarter of the way up from the bottom of the left photo. Me, mess with you guys? Not me! Posted 7 years ago
      1. I was actually doing that: matching up the big rock on the right with where it is placed in the left overview, still could not find. It was a long day :) Posted 7 years ago
        1. If I could figure out how to post a photo in my comments I could post the same photo with the snake circled! Anything to help out. The two photos were taken seconds apart. Posted 7 years ago, modified 7 years ago
          1. You can just copy the URL of the other photo and paste it in a comment. It also works for videos, lists, tags and users. You can do the same thing in the description of your photo, really enriching the description that way. Posted 7 years ago
            1. Unfortunately the photo does not have a URL because it exists only in my iPad’s photo album. Posted 7 years ago
              1. Sorry, you'll have to upload it first before you can link to it. You can upload from the iPad, JungleDragon works on iPads :) Posted 7 years ago
                1. I have reposted just the left photo with the snake circled in red. It really is there! Posted 7 years ago
