  1. Lucky you! I still hope to find one myself one day, and you just find a cluster of them in pristine state! Posted 7 years ago
    1. The real funny part of your story is I didn’t even know what they were when I found them. Also, they are in a potted plant I have in my back yard!! I have an extra room you can stay in if you want to come to America! Take all the pictures you want :) Posted 7 years ago
      1. Such hospitable people, earlier this week I got invited to Canada :) Posted 7 years ago
        1. Well depending on where in Canada I might think it a "better choice". The desert is not the most enjoyable place to be in the summer months. Although, monsoon season is pretty cool!! Posted 7 years ago
          1. I wish I didn't have to be so picky, and could travel more, you're all too kind. Posted 7 years ago
  2. Just came across this one - I was looking through the species as it's had a recent name change and appears to be duplicated at the moment. This one though, I'm pretty sure is Cyathus olla, rather than C. laeve (crucibuliforme). The former has black 'eggs' and seems to prefer growing on the ground in drier environments. Crucibulum laeve is probably the most common and frequently encountered bird's nest fungus in temperate North America. Three features serve to identify it successfully: its yellowish colors; the "lid" over the nest (in young specimens), covering the eggs; and the tiny cords that attach the eggs to the nest.
