Common Flesh Fly top view, Heeswijk, Netherlands Presumed species, found on the bark of a tree. In dutch named the "grey flesh fly". The chest is relatively wide, eyes are vibrant, round, and quite far apart. The body has a checker board pattern of black and white, which is why in dutch we call the family of Sarcophagidae "checkerboard flies", but the english term for the family is simply "flesh flies".
