
Moth Mullein - Verbascum blattaria
Yellow or white flowers with rounded five united, rounded petals. There are five stamens with orange anthers and purple hairs on the filaments. The leaves are triangular to oblong and coarsely toothed.
The fuzzy, purple filaments resemble moth antennae, hence the common name.
Spotted growing next to a pond in a deciduous forest.

''Verbascum blattaria'', or moth mullein, is a flowering biennial weed belonging to the Scrophulariaceae family. An invasive species native to Eurasia and North Africa, it has naturalized in the United States and most of Canada since its introduction. It has been declared a noxious weed by the state of Colorado.
