Violet-toothed Polypore - Trichaptum biforme

Semicircular brackets with a finely hairy upper surface that had white, tan, and lilac zones of color. The pore surface was brown from age.

Growing on rotting hardwood.

"Trichaptum biforme" is a species of poroid fungus in the order Hymenochaetales. It is a saprobe that decomposes hardwood stumps and logs.
