    1. This was challenging photography. The current in the rapids areas is considerable. I had to wedge myself between to boulders to get into position to shoot. The fishes come and go so you need to pick your spot and stick with it, grabbing what you can when fish show up near you. I was snorkeling and that helped but I needed a longer snorkel. But its all worth grabbing a shot of one of these beauties in-situ. Posted 7 years ago

        1. I've got a much better rate with straight macro photography but I'm not that good shooting in rapids. I probably shot 200 images in this shoot and had 2 or 3 I liked.

The Alabama shiner is a species of fish in the "Cyprinidae" family. It is endemic to the United States where it occurs in the Alabama and Tombigbee river systems in Alabama, Georgia, eastern Mississippi, and extreme southeastern Tennessee.
