Red-belted Conk - Fomitopsis pini-canadensis nom. prov.
Large fungus with cream colored pores. At least 30 cm wide. Growing on a tree in a coastal, mixed forest.
The name "Fomitopsis pini-canadensis" is provisional and is a split from the Fomitopsis pinicola group. So, I will leave the ID as Fomitopsis pinicola for now.

''Fomitopsis pinicola'', in English sometimes known as Red Banded Polypore, is a polypore mushroom of the genus ''Fomitopsis''. The species is common throughout the temperate Northern hemisphere. An alternative binomial name is ''Fomes pinicola''.
