
Tetragnatha extensa in cogweb - closeup, Heeswijk, Netherlands
Very common spider in my area, with a notable shiny abdomen. It is in particularly well known for its stretching behavior when it feels threatened, hence in dutch it is named "common stretch spider". Jivko has a great example of this behavior:

"Tetragnatha extensa" is a species of spider found across the Northern Hemisphere. It has an elongate body, up to 11 mm long, and adopts a straight line posture when alarmed. It lives on low vegetation in damp areas, and feeds on flying insects which it catches in its web.
