This is a choice edible species found within the southeastern US. This species is a smaller version of its relative, The Common Pawpaw Tree (Asimina triloba).

''Asimina parviflora'', the smallflower pawpaw or dwarf papaw, is a shrub or small tree in the custard apple family.
