Canada Goose - Branta canadensis
I was looking for snakes when I came upon a large family of Canada Geese on the edge of a pond. I figured they were nearby because the grass was covered in goose poop (adults can excrete up to 2 lbs of poop per day!). I quickly backed up and walked around them because they are generally quite mean and I often get hissed at and chased by these birds!

The Canada goose is a goose with a black head and neck, white patches on the face, and a brown body. Native to arctic and temperate regions of North America, it also occasionally migrates to northern Europe, and has been introduced to Britain, New Zealand, and other temperate regions.
