      1. Nice! Usually they are up in a little nook hiding away during the day. I can never get good shots of the owls at zoos. Was this one brought out for people to see, or were you just super lucky? Posted 3 years ago
        1. Yes, this one was outside the cage on a caretaker's arm, showing it to kids. We stumbled upon it when exiting the zoo. Took this shot from quite a distance and cropped out the hand :) Posted 3 years ago

The northern white-faced owl is a species of owl in the family Strigidae. The southern white-faced owl was formerly included in this species and the two were known as the white-faced scops-owl.
