Lactifluus allardii Peachy-cream colored fungi growing under hardwoods (oaks, hickories, ashes) in a dense mixed hardwood/coniferous forest in NW Georgia (Gordon County), US.<br />
<br />
Very slow exudation of white latex from gills upon cutting. Gills change to a turquoise/green after 30 minutes. Latex itself (on paper) resolves to dirty cream color.<br />

KOH on pileus: no initial reaction. resolves to a pale yellow shade.<br />

Lactifluus allardii

Peachy-cream colored fungi growing under hardwoods (oaks, hickories, ashes) in a dense mixed hardwood/coniferous forest in NW Georgia (Gordon County), US.

A species which is one of the three genera of "milk-cap" mushrooms. This genus has recently been divided from the Lactarius genus as a result of molecular evidence.
