  1. Nice! You look to be having a great season, one jewel after the other! Posted 7 years ago
    1. You are right, I have been for 4 days on a photo trip with Canon in Eastern Rhodope mountains - South Bulgaria. Beautiful place, a lot of animals, birds, flowers. On my way back I visited an old quarry, which is not being exploited, in Central Bulgaria. There, maybe thousand Rosy starlings are breeding. Amazing place! Never seen before. The rosy starling is a passerine bird in the starling family, Sturnidae, also known as the rose-coloured starling or rose-coloured pastor. The species was recently placed in its own monotypic genus, "Pastor", and split from "Sturnus". This split is supported by recent studies, though other related species within its new genus are not yet known for certain.
