    1. Lol yes I've heard many nicknames used in the US. Strangely it's listed as introduced in Western Europe but can't recall having ever seen one, don't even know anyone who has. Posted 7 years ago
      1. A lot of their nicknames are not very flattering due to their punk-ish and very cheeky behaviors.

        I rarely see them (I often find their tracks though) and almost never have a problem with them. I have heard that they are a problem in Germany...maybe they are still making their way towards you.

        1. For the sake of the Raccoon, I hope not. Our country is tiny and land is almost fully used. There's no space for real wildlife as it will run into constant conflict with human interests, and you know how that ends. Most recent example is the return of the wolf. Posted 7 years ago

The raccoon, ''Procyon lotor'', also known as the common raccoon, North American raccoon, northern raccoon and colloquially as coon, is a medium-sized mammal native to North America. It is the largest of the procyonid family, having a body length of 40 to 70 cm and a body weight of 3.5 to 9 kg.
