Yes they seem to have a hole at the bottom of the nest where they do their business, also I observed the little ones balancing out over the nest to do their business too, this must be very risky and possibly explains why some of them do topple out the nest to their demise :( Posted 12 years ago, modified 12 years ago

The barn swallow is the most widespread species of swallow in the world. It is a distinctive passerine bird with blue upperparts, a long, deeply forked tail and curved, pointed wings. It is found in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas.
