    1. Hmmm, interesting question. The only explanation I can think of is very bright direct sunlight. Or maybe some kind of juvenile. Quite sure of the species, there was a sign and its the only penguin in the park. Posted 3 years ago

The African Penguin , also known as the Black-footed Penguin is a species of penguin, confined to southern African waters. It is also widely known as the "Jackass" Penguin for its donkey-like bray, although several species of South American penguins produce the same sound.
