  1. A little hello from New England! There were actually two otters, playing and fishing in a little lake right by the road! I spotted them a little before 6 AM, and was able to watch them for several minutes, seemingly completely unconcerened by my presence, before they disappeared. Posted 7 years ago

The North American river otter is a semiaquatic mammal endemic to the North American continent found in and along its waterways and coasts. An adult North American river otter can weigh between 5.0 and 14 kg. The river otter is protected and insulated by a thick, water-repellent coat of fur.
