Octopus Crab Spider 5mm body length. Light brown with dark brown patches. When in a natural setting, they are superbly camouflaged, for example when resting on a twig. Eyes seem to protrude more than other Thomisidae spiders. I found this little spider on the lid of my recycling bin, hence the bright yellow background. They are ambush hunters and do not build conventional webs.
