Golden Gilled Bolete - Phylloporus rhodoxanthus Habitat: At the base of a ridge in a dense mixed hardwood/coniferous forest. Growing in leaf litter below oaks and other hardwoods.<br />

Pileus: Dry, chestnut to reddish brown (depending on lighting). Flashes blue/green on ammonia application.<br />
<br />
Fertile surface: Bright yellow gills that are slightly decurrent.<br />
<br />
Stipe: Bright yellow undertones throughout. Reddish brown coloration towards apex, transitioning to a golden-blush tone towards base. Basal mycelia yellow.<br />
<br />
Does not bruise in any location.<br />
