The Speckled Wood My very first entry of Pararge aegeria on JD, an abundant species, and a great model in times of scarcity.<br />
Last year was very harsh for lepidoptera populations, and not only to say it right,  due to forest fires that consumed a significant area of the territory. <br />

My very first entry of Pararge aegeria on JD, an abundant species, and a great model in times of scarcity.

The speckled wood is a butterfly found in and on the borders of woodland areas throughout much of the Palearctic realm. The species is subdivided into multiple subspecies, including "Pararge aegeria aegeria", "Pararge aegeria tircis", "Pararge aegeria oblita", and "Pararge aegeria insula".
