Green Frog Tadpole - Gulping Air
This behavior is a great adaptation and is also very cute. As the tadpoles develop and get close to developing legs, they no longer simply breathe with gills, but they also start surfacing to breathe air. In the photo, you can see its tiny mouth wide open as it gulps in air.

The green frog is a species of frog native to the eastern half of the United States and Canada. The two subspecies are the bronze frog and the northern green frog.
