Wood Nettle A native nettle species, unlike the similar stinging nettle, which is invasive. The hairs on the plant cause a painful burning, stinging sensation, sometimes with barbs left in the skin. The skin can turn red and blister, and blisters can last for several days. Unfortunately, I felt this plant before I saw it.
