      I shoot exclusively handheld and without any additional flash, that demands high shutter speeds.
      A wide open aperture of around F3 helps here - the strong dof is the result

      1. I believe we took the same lessons, :) the balance between wide aperture, speed, and flash speed, is always so rewarding when things go right. And, likewise, I use only in camera flash, I don't have any other. sometimes I dream with a cheap flash ring for some good detail macro, and that's it. After all, the eye of the photographer is the only that really matters. And luck, luck sometimes :) Posted 7 years ago
        1. I was recommended to try a Raynox 250 DCR super macro converter.
          It's an adapter and pretty cheap (around 65 €) and should capture the gold tooth of a velvet mite :D
          Haven't found the time to get me one yet, though
