Downy Phlox (Phlox pilosa)
NATIVE. Growing in patches at a dirt road clearing on a hillside in a dense mixed hardwood/coniferous forest in NW Georgia (Gordon County), US. May 11, 2018. Stems and leaves were covered in glandular pubescence (seen via microscopy/magnification), an identifying feature of this species.
