Graceful Bolete Velvety, pinkish red cap with incredibly soft and spongy pink-gray pores. Graceful stipe that was slightly darker than the cap. The stipe narrowed toward the apex and had longitudinal grooves.<br />

    1. Whoa! An interesting mushroom to mark that achievement with! I loved this mushroom and wish I could have gotten it in focus! The gnats and mosquitoes were so vicious in this location though, and I couldn't hold steady. Hopefully I'll see it again! Posted 7 years ago
      1. On this specimen, the start of the hat towards the end of the stem is a pretty deep depth of field to cover. You got the right part in focus though. And lol I definitely know that frustration when hyper focusing on a closeup of macro and insects keep crawling over you. Posted 7 years ago

''Austroboletus gracilis'' is a species of bolete fungus in the family Boletaceae. Originally described as ''Boletus gracilis'' by Charles Horton Peck in 1872, it was transferred to the genus ''Austroboletus'' by Carl B. Wolfe in 1979.
