Caps were brown, dry, rough textured, and about 2-3cm across. Stems were grayish. Tan gills. These mushrooms were growing out from under a small piece of rotting wood in a deciduous forest.

  1. Nice one! I figured you perhaps found these in a somewhat decayed or damaged state, yet most reference photos show them this way: messy, sloppy. Interesting! Posted 7 years ago
    1. Yes! I thought the same thing when I found them, but they seem really top heavy and many pics online show them looking like this. Frustrating to photograph though because they are super fragile and don't cooperate by posing at a good angle! Posted 7 years ago
