Three-lined Hoplia This fuzzy monkey beetle was quite the beauty. I think it is a female as it was brown with brown and yellow scales - males are black with gray pubescence.  These beetles have three-segmented, clubbed antennae and fantastically distinct mesotarsal claws.<br />
<br />
I found it on the side of a river where it was admiring the sycamore trees.<br />

Three-lined Hoplia - Rear End Somewhat risqué (haha), but so pretty! The "rear end" of this gorgeous beetle is covered in scales that look like miniature, iridescent sesame seeds.<br />
