  There were several of these turtles crawling around the riverbed and they are smaller in size (~10cm). I just sat and waited. When I went to the surface for air, I moved slowly. There are lots of people in and out of these springs. I figure the turtles are used to people as long as you don't try to grab them. This species in particular seems to be curious. I shot the same species on the bottom of the Hiwassee River in Tennessee and they reacted to me in the same way - a little bit curious. Posted 7 years ago
