Hopping the meadows

Who made the world?
Who made the swan, and the black bear?
Who made the grasshopper?
This grasshopper, I mean-
the one who has flung herself out of the grass,
the one who is eating sugar out of my hand,
who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down-
who is gazing around with her enormous and complicated eyes.
Now she lifts her pale forearms and thoroughly washes her face.

  2. Its got a funny reflection on its one eye. I asked it about that fact and you know what? It jumped away at the suggestion of imperfection.. Posted 12 years ago
    1. I'm surprised to read it jumped away, as I was assuming this to be a dead speciment. You got incredibly close! Promoted. Posted 12 years ago, modified 12 years ago
      1. We thought it was a dead one too, it lookes a bit frozen. And one of it's legs is in a bit of a strange position.

Apparently it wasn't scared by your camera to take this close shot!

  3. Hey, it jumped hyperspace. It wasn't frozen though. Thx for the promotion!
I had my camera setup ready for another bug and the remote stuck on, I was a few meters away and took a lot of shots. I was really lucky to get the focus right. Never had a grasshopper shot before.

  4. Byw. It was kind of slow for a hopper. Maybe It was sick or at the end of its life or drowsy from the weather's coldness.. About the legs, i don't know, i don't normally see them from up this close. Posted 12 years ago, modified 12 years ago
  5. Hi Jeroen! Aaah, busy here at work, yesterday I wanted to hop along, but failed. Cu soon, friend. Posted 12 years ago
