  1. This is the first time that I am witnessing the famous spring migration, especially of warblers, in the US, and it is amazing! I have seen more than 15 species in a single day, all of them in brilliant breeding plumage, each species adorned in its own unique pattern. Since I see that several species are not yet on JD, I will do my best to get good photos of them and add them on here. Posted 7 years ago

The bay-breasted warbler is a New World warbler. They breed in northern North America, specifically in Canada, into the Great Lakes region, and into northern New England. These birds are migratory, wintering in northwest South America and southern Central America. They are very rare vagrants to western Europe.
