Antilles Pinktoe Tarantula (Caribena versicolor) The Antilles Pinktoe Tarantula, Caribena versicolor, is a small arboreal tarantula from the Caribbean islands of Martinique.  Juveniles are a metallic blue color.  As the spiders mature, they add warmer metallic colors to their appearance like pinks and reds.  Ultimately, the entire abdomen and all of the legs are a red color with a blue carapace.  This is a captive produced juvenile. The Antilles pinktoe tarantula (Caribena versicolor), also known as the Martinique red tree spider or the Martinique pinktoe is popular as a spider pet because of its docile character and unique coloration.
