  1. If I'm not mistaken, the flowers are quite poisonous? Our neighbor used to have a tree like this. It blooms intensely for at most 2 weeks, then all flowers are on the floor. He got rid of it to protect his grandchildren who regularly visit , as well any possible pets from interacting with the flowers. It's a stunning tree to see though. Posted 7 years ago

The plant grows and flowers in damp and mild habitats, especially in the calcareous soils of Southern Europe.
