Underwater rascal
A very lucky still of a landstaged alpine newt, floating frozen under water, its invisible hand gripping for balance. It is curious yet afraid. It will not be harmed by me, yet it is triggered for action.
After birth these newts are water creatures, light blue and very contrasting in their multicoloured jackets. Then evolution kicks in, the skin darkens, the yellow aspects fade, orange takes over. Still the same newt it looks like another species in the same lifetime: the landstage.
