Primrose or Sundrop
A wonderful sight in an otherwise plain grassy area that did not look to yield anything worthy of looking closer at. This primrose was standing out like the sun in a very dark and shadowed area in the grass. I am glad I took the time to study the area.

''Oenothera fruticosa'', the narrowleaf evening primrose or narrow-leaved sundrops, is a species of flowering plant in the evening primrose family. It is native to much of eastern North America, where it is found in a variety of open habitats, including dry woodlands, rock outcrops and moist savannas.
