
Hepatic tanager, Uraba, Colombia
Found on the university terrain of Uraba during sunset. Despite this species having a large range in the Americas, it needs further studying and its various sub species may ultimately be promoted to species status. This is an adult male.

The hepatic tanager is a medium-sized American songbird. Formerly placed in the tanager family, it and other members of its genus are now classified in the cardinal family. The species's plumage and vocalizations are similar to other members of the cardinal family.
