  1. I think I mentioned it on MO, but I think this looks a lot like Dacryopinax spathularia (even if the upper end of the size range is a little large). The morphology is very fan-like! What do you think?

    1. I saw that you and another person on MO added suggestions to a couple of these. But, I haven't had a chance to actually go on and look at them. You know more about mushrooms than I do, so I am inclined to agree with you. I remember this fungus in particular because it was fairly thick and gelatinous, yet rubbery...and, not thin. If that makes sense? Do you still think Dacryopinax spathularia?

      Annndddd, don't feel bad about making suggestions! Flaunt your knowledge and don't be afraid to use it to help correct ID's. I really appreciate the correction...really :)

      1. Awww you are too sweet <3 I doubt I know more than you! We just have different flora to work with in our respective areas!

        As for the texture, that sounds about right. They are slightly tougher and rubbery. Also, Tremella tends to be more translucent from my experience.

"Dacryopinax spathularia" is an edible jelly fungus. It is orange in color. In Chinese culture, it is called "guìhuā'ěr". It is sometimes included in a vegetarian dish called Buddha's delight.
