Fenugreek Milkcap
Lovely lavender-pink mushroom with a soft, dry, depressed cap and a smell that reminded me of caramel. The gills were pink and started to leak a clear milk when marked. The liquid kept coming out and the gills started to get mushy after about 30 sec. The milk was not copious and didn't stain the gills.
Mildly toxic when raw. Symptoms, including vomiting and vertigo, occur within thirty minutes of consumption.

"Lactarius helvus" is a member of the large milkcap genus "Lactarius" in the order Russulales. Fruiting bodies can be found in "Sphagnum" moss in coniferous and deciduous woodland in Europe, and possibly North America, although considerable debate continues about the North American variety, formerly referred to as Lactarius aquifluus.
