Wrinkled Crust This crust fungus was so much more colorful than I usually find: It had blue, pink, orange, and purple colors. The edges were irregularly shaped and it had a wrinkled surface, in which the wrinkles radiate from a more or less central point. The fungus was starting to thaw and was glistening and dripping melted snow.<br />

Wrinkled Crust

This crust fungus was so much more colorful than I usually find: It had blue, pink, orange, and purple colors. The fungus was starting to thaw and was glistening and dripping melted snow.

Phlebia radiata is a member of the Meruliaceae family. It is commonly known as wrinkled crust. P. radiata is an orange to pink crust fungus that spreads itself across the dead wood of hardwoods and conifers across North America.
