Small pink or white colonies, resembling small sea fans, commonly hanging down from overhangs. These are usually seen in overhangs, in caves or in other dark surfaces.

Basal parts of colonies have much thicker stems than distal parts.

These are not true corals. They are in the Order Stylasterina, and resemble the ‘fire corals’, Millepora, more than true corals.
