
Partridge Pea
This plant grows to 1-3 feet tall. It has pinnately compound leaves bearing many small leaflets. It has large yellow flowers, which arise from leaf axils. Each flower is marked with red and is followed by a narrow pod. One of the common names for this plant is Sensitive-Plant because its leaves collapse when touched.

''Chamaecrista fasciculata'', the partridge pea, is a species of legume native to most of the eastern United States. It is an annual which grows to approximately 0.5 meters tall. It has bright yellow flowers from early summer until first frost, with flowers through the entire flowering season if rainfall is sufficient.
