
Jungle Babbler (Turdoides Striata)
This bird in the picture was among a flock of 5 - 6 Babblers that flew down to the ground one after the other and I managed to click a couple of decent pictures of this little bird while it was busy looking after its back while trying to find food.
Jungle Babblers are gregarious birds that forage in small groups of six to ten birds, a habit that has given them the popular name of "Seven Sisters" in urban Northern India, and Saath bhai (seven brothers) in Bengali with cognates in other regional languages which also mean "seven brothers".
There is no way one would return home without a decent picture of a Jungle Babbler on their photography trail to Hesaraghatta. The location is a photographer's delight.
