  1. From what I'm reading about Helianthus divaricatus, they have a notable OPPOSITE leaf arrangment (also sessile). If the leaves were alternate here, this definitely isn't a match for that particular species. Posted 6 years ago, modified 6 years ago
    1. Hmm, thanks. I must have written the description wrong. This should definitely be Helianthus divaricatus because I found it growing at a local audubon and it was labeled :). Posted 6 years ago

"Helianthus divaricatus", commonly known as the rough sunflower, woodland sunflower or rough woodland sunflower, is a North American species perennial herb in the composite family. It is native to central and eastern North America, from Ontario and Quebec in the north, south to Florida and Louisiana and west to Oklahoma and Iowa.
