The Summer Tanager, is a medium-sized American songbird. Formerly placed in the tanager family, it and other members of its genus are now classified in the cardinal family. The species's plumage and vocalizations are similar to other members of the cardinal family.

I think your bird is a male Summer (not unusual for them to have dark edging on the wing feathers, e.g. https://macaulaylibrary.org/asset/212187601), though your female is indeed a Scarlet. Posted 4 years ago, modified 4 years ago
