This robust gecko is brown, yellowish brown, or reddish brown, with many small prominent dark-edged pale spots over its body, limbs, and tail. It lives in woodlands and rocky outcrops, particularly granite or sandstone, sheltering in rock crevices, under slabs, and sometimes under bark.
