Carolina Wren

A small, chunky bird with a round body and a long tail that it often cocks upward. It has a distinctive bill, which is long, slender, and downcurved. Both males and females have bright, unpatterned reddish-brown coloring on their back and wings, with tan-orange underparts. They also have a long white eyebrow stripe.

I spotted this wren as it was flying around the goat and cow pastures on a farm. She spent a lot of time hopping around a woodpile with her fledglings.
