  1. One of the most commonly heard voices in Yucatan, though not always easy to spot! One of the many distinctive subspecies, compare with haylo's photo from Trinidad!

      1. Haha no I think adults always have orange eyes, it's just more or less visible depending on lighting and pupil diluation. I was referring to the rufous being limited to the brows or covering the whole cap, plus the extent of yellow on the underparts. Posted 7 years ago

The rufous-browed peppershrike is a passerine bird in the vireo family. It is widespread and often common in woodland, forest edge, and cultivation with some tall trees from Mexico and Trinidad south to Argentina and Uruguay.
