Black-cheeked woodpecker, Utria National Park, Colombia

The black-cheeked woodpecker is a resident breeding bird from southeastern Mexico south to western Ecuador.
This common and conspicuous species gives a rattling ''krrrrrl'' call and both sexes drum on territory.
