    1. Thanks! Not to anthropomorphize, but I'd love to know what this bee was thinking. I shot it in the morning before the bee had warmed up enough to fly away, haha. So, it was basically stuck there while I snapped away. Posted 7 years ago

The common eastern carpenter bee, "Xylocopa virginica", is the carpenter bee most often encountered in the eastern United States. It is often mistaken for a large bumblebee species, as they are similar in size and coloring.
